A personal recap of things I explored, learned, or questioned in tech this week.
🔧 What I Worked On
- Started recovering ChronosUp project in my homelab
- That just started. I have a full release cycle for this project.
- I know this is overkill for a solo software engineer for practical terms, but not overkill for learning and accumative work that can easily be replicated in other projects
🌐 Homelab Updates
- Update Gitlab from v18.6.1 → v18.7.0
- Update Docmost from 0.23.2 → 0.24.1
- Update Duplicati from 2.1.0.5_stable_2025-03-04 → 2.2.0.1_stable_2025-11-09
📚 What I Learned
- ctrl + a goes to the begining of the command
- ctrl + e goes to the final of the command
- We can use Wireguard and another VPN provider and still get access to our home network
- it seems obvious, but now I tested and it worked perfectly.
- Finally I understood how Minio really works.
🧠 Things That Surprised Me
- x86 and ARM are pretty much the same nowadays. What matters is the level of complexity. Risc-V is faster because it doesn’t have legacy to support.

💬 Final Thoughts
- Even being the last week of the year, I was able to do some stuff.
- I’m really motivated for the things I’m doing
- Next year will be even better, I’m sure
