Monthly Tech Journal — April and May of 2026

A personal recap of things I explored, learned, or questioned in tech this month.

🔧 What I Worked On

  • AI workflow
    • At these two months, I fully integrated more advanced AI tools in my workflow
  • ChronosUp
    • Added initial E2E tests
    • Reshaped landing page
  • Supermarket
    • I worked on the MVP
    • Most of the work us through Cursor and Claude code

🌐 Homelab Updates

  • I didn’t do anything substantial on my homelab. I just updated some services like Gitlab
  • Added E2E VMs

📚 What I Learned

  • Homelab for interviews
    • My Homelab doesn’t mean anything for many companies
  • Opencode
    • I got a free chatgpt plus suscription. Since open code is compatible with Codex, I used it to learn how to use open code.
    • I found it pretty good.
  • Glove 80 keyboard
    • I’m still training my hand muscles to get used to the new concave shape

🧠 Things That Surprised Me

  • Glove80 keyboard final price
    • I paid more than 500 USD
    • Actually, the surprise came more for the taxes and the delivery cost, I live in a kind of remote place.
    • The keyboard is expensive for most people. But is an acceptable price for anyone who type as part of their job.

💬 Final Thoughts

  • I stopped focusing on k8s learning
    • I’m more into the idea of complete the supermarket mvp and complete my workflow infra estructure before going deeper to k8s and other services.
  • AI is great, but it won’t solve all of our problems (obviously!), but it’ll help to follow the good practices
