A personal recap of things I explored, learned, or questioned in tech this week.
π§ What I Worked On
- Started the process to redeploy ChronosUp
- Started the process to recover my homelab k8s cluster
- Organizing my devices in my home inventory
π Homelab Updates
- Converted my 3-node cluster into 2 standalone nodes
- I did that because I’m repurposing one of my Dell Optiplex with something unrelated to servers
- I have a plan to purchase a totally new 3-node cluster with 10gb network support. But that is for the future
- Now, I have a Dell Optiplex for the hard demand and with no battery and a macbook for public services
- This is good because, know there is no need to sync configs what is good for HA, but it has a high cost of mantainance and price (hardware and power consumption)
- Setup Google Drive for my blog backups
- Updates
- Gitlab to v18.6.1
π§ Things That Surprised Me
- Windows ISO is not bootable by default
- BalenaEtcher is not enough to make a usb flash bootable
- Windows requiere extra steps to “setup” the boot
- I used a software called WinDiskWriter
- I’m not able to install home assistant in my homelab. it doesn’t boot
β Open Questions or Doubts
- I’m not sure what to do with my Raspberry pi and my Banana pi zeros
π Links or Resources I Found Useful
πΉ Youtube Videos I watched
π¬ Final Thoughts
- This was a pretty good week. Not just for tehnical perspective but once on my job and my home
- In last weeks, I stop logging all the things I’m learning. But in that week I was able to resume this good practice.
